This is someone's home project, ostensively to protect the gun. Interesting work..

All the marking will tell you is who and when it was manufactured not who or when someone played with it. It definately was never a German issue with the velvet. Interesting but to bad it looks like a fair holster before the addition. Bill

Isn't that a WW1 style holster with Nazi markings?
Doesn't make sense. William |

William
It is a WW2 holster, with correct marking. WW1 holsters have a different hinge, a seperate piece is used between the lid and body, The mag pouch on WW1 is seperate and not part of the back leather,On WW2 holsters there is a horizontal stitch going across the back, absent on WW1 holster Eric My first luger was a BYF 41 which I sold in 1958 while in college for $40 with an original holster. Didn't want to sell but the GI Bill in those days was pretty thin. I like your holster anyway it's unique. Jerry. You beat me to it.

First Bill I was 2 years back then. Back then I assume storing your luger was proboble no big deal!OK These are our choices as I see them. A huge safe which unfortunatle for many is out of the question. Or a combination of the following. The rest are hidden inside a sock or two!

Thanks, I'm better of leaving it alone. I finally purchased a genuine correct police holster since then!
