I looked up more than 20 mallard hens and the main difffence was they all lack the blue on its side, tks

My favorite is an osprey who has her nest accros the street. All are attractd to the natural pond in the back" White heron, dumby duck and the 2 siblings. Thanks for your help! except for the little whites herons who feed on worms and insects.

Eric, your duck looks like it might be a hybrized Black Duck-Mallard cross. I suggest this because Black Ducks should not be in Florida at this time of year and both species frequently interbreed. I was an avid duck hunter for over twenty years.
