Sarco for parts?

Anyone deal with this company? I need a take down lever spring and I was thinking of a reproduction holster and a set of reproduction grips to keep mine from any more damage. Thanks jim

The posts I have seen is they are very slooooooow on delivery.

The quality can be awful and it can be good.

I prefer real parts, real holsters, etc, as you know what you are getting.

i have dealt with them several times on various parts, when they are in stock, they have allways shipped fast, you may try numerich arms allso, they do pretty good allso. i have had good luck with both, so far.

Tom Heller here on the site can sell you a takedown lever spring and there are a number of good sources for a repro holster other than Sarco. Sarco is slow and you sometimes get less than you expected.

Pacific Canvas and Leather has one of the better selections and their reproductions are a cut above the rest.

I have had half a dozen orders from Sarco in the last year; all shipped quickly and the items were as advertised. In several instances, the items were advertised as used but were actually NOS unused/unissued and original.

I would have no qualms about ordering from them.

I also deal with Numrich [Gun Parts Corp] and am waiting for a small order today. They also ship quickly and most parts are acceptable, with the exception of a sear spring for my C96 Mauser that was either inferior steel or not hardened. Coat hanger steel most likely - Chinese/Pakastani???

In event event, I order from both of them regularly. AAA+++

Sarco is a LOT quicker in delivery now than they were a few years ago.....quality is sometimes great, sometimes not.....I find the same thing in buying parts for my British MGB...some are made in China !

I have ordered numerous parts, mostly for Broomhandles, from Tom Heller, AKA Luger Doc. I have always been very satisfied, and his prices are reasonable, and the delivery is quick.

I have ordered a number of items from Sarco, and always had a fast ship. Most of the parts were good, but a couple of the used parts were really used!! I did order the Luger grips from them, and if you do also, be prepared to do a LOT of fitting!! They don't come anywhere near fitting when you get them. I didn't mind the fitting time(2-3 hours), and the final finishing. I ended up with a nice looking and fitting pair of Luger grips. For the price, it was worth it to me. I will buy from Sarco again, if they have what I need.

Thanks for the link on the holster. Im going to order one monday. Im going to order the spring from sarco mainly because I want a spare set of grips and a dust cover for my arisaka rifle. Figure get everything in one place on that. Heck maybe even get a monopod for the rifle. jim

JM et al, I've worked closely with Sarco over the years on several deals. I'm just glad that someone is out there who will commission the production of thousands of a particular repro part, so that we have a source for these as the original parts disappear. I do carry many of their repro PO8 parts as a cheaper alternative to the originals. I agree with the above on the time that it takes to fit their Asian made checkered wood grips, and I had to return their repro holdopens that were made undersized and do not work. TH

I have bought a number of parts from Sarco. Not sure the parts are as good as original but they have worked for me and the shipping is reasonable and quick.
