There is currently an auction in ebay that is titled "Item image
Luger Magazine Navy Two Wood Bottom 9mm P04 not P08" (Item number 110770064645), Being new to Lugers this is my first experience with the P04. Does anyone know why these would not be fittable to my 70's Mauser P08 magazines? Is the only difference the concentric rings in the gripping depression? Thanks

I don't think they are that wonderful of repros?
The quality of the rings seems poor to me. Have you asked GT if he has any wood bases left? Ed |

Hi HisSoldier & Thanks Ed, As for the difference... only the knob ends are different on any original Luger magazine bottom from the specifications.. so in that regard, it's only a matter of choice?? But, on fit, strength and function... It's a whole'nother'thing!!! And with the strength of the Mauser mag spring, you better have the very best you can acquire... bargains are nice, but not on this application.. best to you, til...lat'r..GT

I prefer perky, bouncy little bottoms...
![]() In all seriousness, I prefer aluminum bottom magazines with two retaining pins...Even if they are not 'original' to my Lugers... GT makes an excellent Mec-Gar bodied aluminum base conversion...Email him for pricing... ![]() Save those original 70's Mauser magazines for posterity...

I have in stock, new repro Mauser Parabellum black plastic bottoms @$15 and all variations (plain, Cal 9m/m or Germany marked, Navy Concentic circles and early Swiss with the metal inserts) of GT's wood bottomed mags starting @$35 each + S&H. To have them installed, best to purchase directly from GT. I do also carry a few of the cheaper grade Sarco wood bottoms, Franxite white, brown or black plastic bottoms @$10 each and the MecGar concentric circle BPBs @$5. I also have the USA exclusive on perfect bakelite FXO type BPBs @$35. Also have most other mag parts available, TH
