Luger Parts

I have the following lugar parts can anyone give me a value and description? these parts have the number 88 stamped on them with the exception of the thumb bolt which has the number 100 stamped on it. The main bolt has DMC engraveing

top is a DWM Luger toggle, does it have the firing pin, do all the parts match (push in with a screw driver, and slightly turn, don't force), or pull toggle down so it knees and look and see if you can see the sn value $100-$150, but its in rougher shape so... (see spelling, common mistake)

The L shaped and the one below it go to the recoil spring, $30 maybe

then left, down, then right and down
Hold-open, if numbered and not pitted, $45

Sear worth around $25

Take down, depends on how good of shape, $45-$55

Magazine latch, $20

These parts look like they survived a fire, so temper may be an issue.

Yes the firing pin is there but I can see no number on it. The hold open is numbered 88

Ed- that's a Navy toggle; complete with sight...I should think it would be worth a bit more than $150...

I do not know about any fire but who knows.... the parts were in the bottom of his ww2 dufflebag wrapped in waxed paper. Thanks for the explanation about the sight.....it is a 2 position sight. I could not figure the 100 stamp...now..... I know 100 meters and 200 meters I would say it that it is somewhat unsual as my lugar does not have this feature. Maybe why dad wanted to save it.

Bob, There may be a way to determine this. Open the sight by pushing the button on the right side..slide the sight back..on a Navy sight the interior should be in the white. If it is in the white and perhaps either rusty or corroded OK. If it is fire blued or black it has achieved a temperature 5-600 degrees or higher.

I apologize Ed. Rest assured I will not do it again. I think a lot of you and the efforts you put into both forums...not many people would sacrifice their time to do the job you do. A PM would have been a better alternative, so thank you for pointing that out.

Having said that, you are quick to call out someone that has erred, so I guess we are birds of a feather. To my mind, the proper response to Postino's post would have been: "oops, I didn't notice that, thank you for pointing it out", and then, in your experience you might have given an alternative value if you wanted to.

You are in the business of buying, selling and trading all the time, much more than me. I occasionally will venture a guess on the value of a scarce/rare early item, but for the most part have no idea of what the current market is on anything. I rely on guys like you to keep me informed, and when you obviously have mis-valued something, I think you should have the opportunity to use your enviable expertise to make a correction.

Hang on Guys........any and all advise, comments, and suggestions are welcome. The knowledge of the least of you guys is more than I can ever hope to have. I am researching these parts form a number of sources and seeing lots of different opinions on their value. But the truth of the matter is this these parts are not doing anyone any good sitting in my drawer. My father was not a collector just an infantryman turned mechanic. The only pistol he ever owned was this old 1914 lugar. I do know there was a reason he kept the parts for all these years......not for replacement parts but maybe for their unsualness. Who knows. I also know he would roll over in his grave if I did not do the research and find a good home and a fair price. He would want these to go to someone who knows their value and could put then back into action. So having said that I really appreciate all the comments so far and hope to see more. Thank-you guys for your forum and your help

Not trying to embarrass you; just thought that the original pics were so dark that you didn't immediately notice the '100' on the second pic (which led me to download & lighten the first pic to be sure).

I don't have any experience with Navy Lugers; haven't even seen one. It was my thought that you could give a better estimate than I could. I'm pretty sure I've seen Rich/rwc on GB sell Navy toggles for $350 (or at least ask that much). Seems high to me, but he seems to thrive...

Edit: Correction - The BIN on the GB Navy toggle is $550...

Bob, It's a shame that your Navy toggle assy got rusted. I'm afraid that the pits in the knurlled area with be near impossible to get out and restore properly. Not that an expert restorer couldn't do it, but it probably would cost more to restore than you are asking. I'd still be willing to take a closer look and make you an offer. TH

Thanks Again everone for your comments and advice. I must say I have had some interesting offers some some worth serious consideration.= and some obviously not. I am in no real hurry here as the real or percieved value can in no way equal the memories and storys behind these found pieces. This is a one time effort on my part as they will never show up again in my lifetime. Lets let this thread play out and give it time to find the intrested parties and i am sure the true value will be seen. It is not about the money as this sale will not effectively change my life its all about finding the real value and getting these parts into the hands of who can best utilize them. Like I said before they are what they are.
