hello there, i am new to the forum and found this website wile researching a luger that has been in my family for a few generations now. i can't seem to find other lugers that match it so i was wondering if any one would mind helping. it is a DWM in 7.65 with all matching serial numbers, it has the N crown on the Barrel, slide assembly and the toggle assembly. The serial number is 7692 O. under the safety it reads Gesichert does not have a grip safety and has a stalk lug on the back of the pistol grip. From what i can tell it has a type 2 pistol grip frame.
I havent yet figured out how to post pictures yet so if someone could explain that i would be thankful. i have been trying to find the date that it was made but have been unsuccessful |

Looks like a commercial, "Alphabet" series. Block 'O' would be last half of 1925 to the first quarter of 1926. Given your later serial number, probably 1926.

Welcome to the forum! Looks like a decent and honest commercial example to me as well...

Hi Allen, and welcome to the forum.
As Clark said, you've got a nice DWM Alphabet commercial Luger in decent condition and original finish and magazine. My first Luger was an Alphabet commercial built just before your pistol in the middle of the "M" block. These are well made Lugers produced for export by DWM during the Weimar Republic era in Germany after WW-I. There ought to be a "Germany" or "Made in Germany" stamped on the receiver somewhere. Left side or front near the serial number. Cheers! Marc

Thank you all for your help, its nice to know a little more about something as old as this.
I'm not thinking of selling this but I am curious as to what the value of this type of Luger is? |

If all matching and correct, I would think $700-$800.
Less if there's finish wear. More if it's close to mint. Marc
