Default My first Luger DWM Commercial

Hey guys,

I posted my most recent Luger in the military Lugers section, check it out if you get the chance and tell me what you think!

This one here is actually my first Luger, I picked it up a couple weeks ago for $695 and it came with a nice wooden display case. All the numbers match and it's chambered in .30 Luger. It came with an old box of ammo as well.

I had a chance to shoot this gun last week for the first time and I couldn't have been more impressed with how accurate and fun it was to shoot. I put 100 rounds of Fiocchi soft point through it and had no issues at all. I was so impressed I bought a second Luger (in 9mm) today.

Anyway here are some pics, I'm hoping I got a good deal on this gun I kind of took a gamble and impulse bought it because I thought it seemed like a fair price but being my first Luger purchase I wasn't quite sure what too look for other than matching numbers.

Nice looking Luger; I'm glad that it shot well for you. Is there any chance that you might provide some closeup photos?

Hi Nathan, and welcome to the forum. Congratulations on your new Lugers.

These pistols are quite a bit of fun to shoot.

I think that you did pretty well on this one. I bought a similar DWM Alphabet Commercial a couple of years back for about the same price .

The wooden base of the magazine doesn't look like an original. If you ever want to have it looked at or replaced, "GT" Gerald on this board does some of the best work in the world on magazines.

I would be very suspect of shooting those cartridges...I don't know the exact year that Remington bought out Peters...but I'm pretty sure it was decades ago...

Yeah that ammo is only for display purposes now.

One might consider the issues of long term storage of any pistol in a foam lined interior. Direct contact of metal surfaces with foam long term, can cause some pitting after a while.
Good to know, I was planning on pulling out that foam anyway and finding something better to use that's more attractive.

As promised some more detailed pics...

Full S# on the inside of a side plate and on the receiver lug. Very unusual. I've never seen it before.
