Default Refinishing Grips

Guys,

Ya learn something everyday! I was re-oiling some grips after cleaning/stripping them down. They had been so dirty they looked like BWs. I was having trouble with lint fibers, even though I was using lintless gun cleaning patches. A lady friend introduced me to 'Make-up Sponges' Little triangular foam pads. They work like a charm!

FN,

Great idea. The stuff is out there, ya just have to figure out where to use it. That's one of the reasons I don't throw away old tooth brushes.

I have used cheesecloth in the past and did not have a lint problem. Learned that through antique furniture refinishing.

I have always used an old toothbrush before; then wiped on the linseed oil with my fingers; then dabbed with a cloth. If lint came off, then I used the toothbrush after (or before) it dried.
