It is the holster that is marked "Tr.12." the tool is marked "SA". It came with a 1910 "shooter" that the vet had parkerized. It is all matching.

Oh I read that the tool is marked with SA. Is it one as on the added photo?

1916 German Military accepted by 12th Army clothing depot and issued at some point to PO8 #6396. TH

"Tr.12" indicates issue to Train Regiment 12 garrisoned in Dresden. Not to be confused with locamotives, train units were supply columns.
