Default Luger

Can anyone give me information on this Luger, approx. date made and if it is a German luger, or did someone else make it? I am also seeking approx. value. Gunbroker.com members suggested I come to your site for info from the Luger experts.
Thanks.

1908 DWM Commercial, serial number 61297, marked R.G.59b: Reichs Gendarmerie Elsass-Lothringen weapon number 59 mounted. This was a special militarized police force under the Imperial German Reich, with headquarters in Strassburg. This police force kept order in German occupied Alsace Lorraine. A close up pf the R.G.59b would be helpful.
I would guess the value at $3000 to $4000 if all matching and in original condition.
If you decide to sell this treasure please let me know.
Thanks
Jan

These Lugers were manufactured in about 1910-1914 and are covered in detail in the book Central Powers Pistols pages 62-65 and 71-74.

Jan has given you an excellent description. That is an outstanding Luger. Congratulations!
