From time to time I see Lugers in movies mentioned. Anyone watch Hogan's Hereos. I think it is a fun show and sometimes see a Luger. I like the German epuipment and uniforms--authentic or not. Take a close look at Shultz's rifle----it is a Springfield 30-40 Krag. So much for authenticity. I watched last night. Hogan used the K word at least twice--and in presence of thousands of viewers. Recently I observed Archie Bunker[All in the Family] use the word Heb in reference to a man of Jewish Faith--again in presence of thousands. TV Land continues to be on the air. My point is: recently some poor guy used the K word once, in passing, and was crcified by this forum. I don't think this was fair or appropriate here in America and expecially not now. I suspect that the poor guy who used the K word was more offended by the forum than was anyone else.

But Art, both of the shows used them to show what idiots the "bad guys" were, not that it is acceptable to use them?
I am not a big politically correct guy, but why use inflammatory words? And no, I don't think the words are as bad as other words, but why use them? Just to use them? I think this is a great forum and talking about Luger's and Nazi's is understandable, as they are interconnected. But going down the political path just causes tension. Ed Tinker |

I thought the thread about the 'K' word was brought to a close. There are some words, "trigger words" that are best left unspoken. Nuff said!
