Default "New" DWM 1916

I just picked up another Imperial Luger from www.gb. It's funny, I call it "new", but as far as I know, the fellow I bought it from could be any one of you, and this Luger could be well known around here.
Regardless, it's new to me.

It is in good condition with some minor pitting on the barrel, and the raised portion around the rear of the frame.
All the numbers, including the grips, match crisply. The magazine is aftermarket.

My only concern is that there doesn't seem to be any sign of a "halo" around the stampings, but if it was reblued at one time, it was done nicely, as the numbers and edges are all sharp, and the interior is still in the white. All the pitting appears to be on top of the finish, ie: no blued pits. I think it's a well preserved Luger that fell on hard times with a previous owner and got freckled.

I have a few more pictures on my website here: My 1916 Luger

I have wanted a 1916 DWM for some time, and the price was right on this old piece.

If I remembered right, only the stamps under the barrel and the barrel alignment mark are supposed to show "halo". But I did not see under barrel picture from your website. (Parabellum experts pls correct me if I am wrong)

Interesting, I might have visited this website before...... not sure when and where... did we meet before? no?

Never mind. Now I remembered.

I've been around here off and on for a while now. I also frequent some of the C96 boards and J. Still's board. You may have run into it there. I think I remember dialoging with you on a Broomhandle I had with a torqued rear end...Ah yes...

Zamo -- Visited your site again.... love that CAR-15, M-14, etc, etc. I had a Colt made green label CAR-15 NIB in the past, sold it for $$ and regret forever.

A few years ago I had two NIB Green label NIB CAR-15s. I had an offer I couldn't resist and sold them for $2500 each. I believe you can buy them for less than half that now. No regrets.

If it's $1250 now, I will buy it back. I sold for $2200.

Off topic. One guy did offer much less, something like $1500... the reason was he had just sold one gun cheaply, so expect me to do the same.... not sure what's his logic These guns must be affected by sunset of AWB in many states.

Well, I didn't keep this one very long. I sold it, along with my 1916 Red-9 Broomhandle at a local gunshow up here recently, ostensibly to fund the purchase of a nicer Red-9 Broomhandle that I was leading an auction on...I bet you can guess what happened next...the really nice broomhandle went RIGHT THROUGH THE STINKING ROOF and way out of my price range.
So now, I am short a 1916 DWM and a Red-9 C96. Once again, I have some large holes to fill in the collection.
To make matters worse, do to a tragic return of the worst symptoms of my chronic liberalophobia, I next promptly went out and spent most of the money from these two sales on modern "Assault" weapons in a paranoid frenzy of BAN anticipation resulting from the outcome of the latest presidential elections.
I did make a little money on both sales, which doesn't hurt, and I still think I sold the C96 too cheap, but when you get a good deal, you can pass on a good deal, and I originally got a pretty good deal on it.
Keep your eyes open for me, will ya?
