What makes a 1900 Eagle luger an "American Test Eagle"? Is it a low serial number? I checked out Simpson's "test" eagles and if there is some kind of mark they don't show it. Perhaps they don't have "Germany" stamped on the receiver?

Anyone who has not read Dwight's scholarly work at the above link is missing out on terrific dedication to detailed data collection and analysis, and an educational experience seldom matched in any Luger literature. Do not pause, but go immediately to that link and be fascinated by his efforts and writing.
