Storing holsters in the safe?
Is it a good idea to store holsters in the gun safe? I have several nice holsters that I have been keeping in the safe, but wondered if that was a good idea. The safe has dessicant inside and I am concerned that it could too dry for the leather. The holsters are in South Florida, so humidity is an issue, although the house is air conditioned. Any advice?

Hal, I don't think it matters much. If your holsters are where they will be in AC that is dry enough. I don't think dessicant in a safe will affect the absorption of moisture by leather. The holster acts as a dessicant, absorbing and releasing moisture. The thing to do is keep it at a minimum.
Several years ago I aquired some leather that was in Houston under AC for 30 years. It was perfect. A box of holsters was also stored out in the garage with no AC . It had very little mold but some spots. They brushed off easily. I was amazed as Houston is famous for humidity. Darkness is important and be sure they have little or no weight on them. They can be squashed out of shape easily. Good luck! Jerry Burney
