noob to lugers, can you help ID this

Have to start with a freindly hello to you all.

I humbly come here seeking knowledge on behalf of a computer-challenged coworker.
He scooped up a luger as part of a 4-gun purchase, less than $600 paid for the 4, and the blue book just doesn't seem to jive with how things really are.

If I don't botch it, here are the pics...

is this groove for attaching a simple buttstock?

yeah, the spare mag doesn't match, but without taking it all down, everything seems to.

I thank any and all that chime in on this, and I'm sure my co-worker will be rightly 'preciative.

If you were curious, it was an old widow disposing of her husbands stuff, she is aware of higher prices but just wanted to get the stuff out.
