Default LUGER TAKEDOWN...

I have read several times that one is to slide back the barrel assembly to release pressure on the take down lever and then to move it down and then remove the trigger plate.

Without knowing that I simply pulled back the toggle locking it into the "open position" and then proceeding to move the take down lever, trigger plate, and finally releasing the toggle and slidng it off the frame. Am I doing anything wrong or injurious to the gun by this method?
