Default mag popping out proublem

i posted in the artillery section about a luger i have...its a 1914 erfurt artillery model....i been thrown alot of offers for it lately...in nice shape and shoots fine..only trouble is..the mag likes to pop out when you shoot it..pops out just a smig when you fire it and misses grabbing the next shell..if you hold the clip in it fires with out a proublem...is this a hard or expecive fix? does it hurt the collector value of my gun alot? it looks allmost new..very little wear..and only pops out when you fire it or hit the clip release

It sounds as though you need either a new MecGar mag for shooting @$30 or a better condition Imperial proofed mag release button for about the same price. I have both in stock. TH

Mike,

If you click on this link the third video from Sep 18 shows how to remove the mag release.

Hope this helps,

Chris

Gene,

I made the videos for this forum. There are 13 videos in all (I could only put 9 on the free link). The moderator plans to put them on this forum soon.

Thanks,

Chris

429, If your mag release is not flush to the frame on the right side of gun and somewhat loose, all you may need is a new mag release spring @$10. TH

Also, make sure that the mag release catch isn't being blocked by one of the grips. If the grips develop some play, that can happen.

429,
If you replace them all at once you won't be able to tell us what the problem was, can you replace one thing at a time and check it, then move on the next item........
just a thought....kick it around, I for one would like to know the root cause.
