rebluing

I want to get my code 42, 1939 luger, professionally reblued. The previous owner stripped all of the blueing off, it is now in the white. It is all matching except the clip and is a great shooter. Can anyone recomend the place to send this for reblueing?

Ted's Luger Strawing look under links & resources service will do an excellent job. He has done four of mine. His cost is $600 and will take six to nine months.

I don't think I could weine myself off of it for 6 to 9 months waiting for it to be reblued! I've wanted one for as long as I can remember and I just got this a few weeks back.....I'm still sleeping with it under my pillow....I love the mechanics and visual appearance of the Luger. I have to fire it every day and then spend the eveing cleaning it......is there something wrong with me, I think I'm addicted or least infected? I may have to wait a while before I can part with it!

Welcome efm! As others here on the forum have told me.. you seem like you may have a case of "Lugeritis". be carefull, it is Highly addictive! I know first hand!

You sir have Lugeritis, there is no cure.
There is only one thing to do.
Buy another Luger to shoot while this one is away at Thors.
That way they can keep each other company in the safe.

Guys,

South Georgia is an island in the WAY South Atlantic in the penguin belt.
It is one of the Islas Malvinas (Falkland Islands).

I'm originally from Lakeview oregon, born and raised out there. The company I work for told me they had good news and bad news. The good news was that I still had a job............the bad news was it was in Georgia.........that's the USA Georgia, of course. We have been here going on 11 years now and I've grown quite fond of it here.

Lugers ARE great fun to shoot. This is a fine place to learn about them. IÃ¢??ve been on the Forum for only half-a-year and I have learned more than I ever could have imagined there was to know about them. Of course I am barely scratching the surface of this hobby, nay, obsession I call Lugermania. These folks have taken me by the hand, and occasionally by the collar, to steer me in the right direction.

My own fond memories of Georgia will always be of my time in the Army at Fort Gordon and in Augusta. It was my home when Martin Luther King and Robert Kennedy were murdered. It was a bittersweet experience for me to see as so many thousands of Georgians gathered to honor the fallen Dr. King. He was a great American.

Back to the guns. If you don't think you want to invest in another Luger shooter just yet you could look around for an inexpensive C96 Mauser to shoot. The 7.63mm ammo is a bit expensive but a real kick to shoot. Just make sure it is properly checked out for reliability. IMHO it as the Luger's older cousin and a natural companion to any Luger or Lugers in your safe. I recently got one. I'm learning to shoot it now. Then it's back to Luger hunting.
I'll also be looking for that younger cousin, a P38.

..to eat penguins, I recommend taking out the meat right away and lay it in a mixture of 3 liters of milk and six table spoons of 7% vinegar over night. You could also use sour milk, but I prefer the first alternative.

well here we go, Luger man has commited to reblueing my luger, he figures 6 weeks, I guess I need to go ahead and bite the bullet and get it done, the price is $300.00, any comments?
Six weeks!.......................I havn't had it for more than 3 weeks. Life is hard!

Ted Green posts before and after photos on his website. Lugerman only shows after pictures on his website. Could you post some "before photos" of your luger so we can compare them to the after photos that you will post later.

Here is a good recipe for a penguin

Ingredients:
0.75 oz Benedictine
0.75 oz Cherry Liqueur
0.75 oz Gin

Fill a shaker half full with ice cubes. Pour all ingredients into shaker and shake well. Strain drink into a Cocktail glass and serve.
