Lahti auction again

These auctions are very suspicious on a Lahti as the pictures are identical.

It seems the same Lahti is being put up for auction again even though there was a high bidder on the first auction. I was the second to highest bidder.

Hi Ken,

It does look a bit suspicious. Maybe the winner backed out. The seller's feedback looks pretty clean. Have you contacted the seller for an explanation?

Could be using the same picture for two different weapons.

Not yet, but I will.

On another auction a few months back, I asked that question about a relisting after a month had passed, but that particular seller never answered back. It makes you wonder.

On auctions, I do not get involved in bidding wars, so if a seller is trying to maximize a selling price, it isn't going to work with me.

I know people who practice the unethical tricks of driving up bids, so I am not easily fooled into paying more than I am willing as I put in my maximum bid when I bid. If I win, fine. If I loose, that's fine too.

That is the best way to do it. Otherwise a case of "stupid" can take over and the next thing you know you're into it too deep to recover.

After looking at the 2 different auctions again, I have to agree with the seller, the pictures are not the same.

But, I do not agree with the seller that the auctions are of 2 different Lahtis. The serial numbers match in the pictures so he has taken new pictures.

caveat emptor seems to be very applicable in this case.

His auctions sure draw a lot of bidders. More than a few of them have NR or 1

feedback. Hmmmm. Very interesting!

I was thinking "ghost bidders", people who run up bids but try never to buy.

The fallacy of ghost bidding is that occasionally, a person or his buddies buys his own item. Then he's got to pay the fees too.
