Default ERFURT DOUBLE DATE

HI GUYS-

I WAS GIFTED FROM A WW2 VET HIS TROPHY BRINGBACKS. ONE OF THE PIECES WAS A ERFURT 1917/1930. I SHOWED THIS TO AUTHOR

CHARLES KENYON AT THE SOUTHEASTERN NACPA SHOW AND HE DID PHOTOS ON IT FOR HIS NEW BOOK.

DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY THOUGHTS AS TO WHY A 1930 DATE WOULD BE STAMPED ON THE GUN. IT IS LEGIT.AND COMPLETE WITH CAPTURE PAPERS.

THE GUN ITSELF IS NOTHING TO BEHOLD THE EYE AS A 70% GUN BUT THE DATE IS WEIRD.

Sounds more like the guy applying the 1920 property stamp picked up a 3 instead of a 2.

One of those rare one-of-a-kind things. Hey it could be worth a small fortune...
