Should this one have a hard rubber butt plate ? Should it be numbered ?...to be original...?

Pete, my 1902 Carbine stock has a horn butt plate and the iron has the last three numbers of the serial.

Pete I think that it is a Fajan stock. I have one fajan stock and they are very well made. But could not fool a blind man.

mine has also a horn but and 3 serial numbers - many people (probably the seller) donÃ?Â´t realize what it is : horn ore hard rubber

They were stock makers back in the 60-70s. If I remember rite they were in Calif.

I have a known-repro carbine stock that appears to be made of walnut unless one looks closely or nicks the wood with a sharp instrument. Then it is clear that the wood is probably birch or maple which has been nicely stained a walnut color.

Do you know if the Fajan stocks were maple or birch, stained a walnut color?

I cannot find any markings of any kind on this stock.

Anyone know what these repro stocks are worth?

Fajen finally folded in the late '80s. their remaining inventory was purchased by Numrich arms/ Gun parts corp. They were a fine maker of after market stocks, but this stock really looks a little too nice for them. I've had several sporterized military arms over the years rapped in Fajen wood.

This is I think is a Fajen made stock. Very well made but would not fool anyone. It might be made of birch. The grain is realy wide.
