Question Unit Markings/should I buy this?

Question #1 This is on my gun- 4V386 Do you guys have any idea what this code means? Question #2 A friend has a DWM Artillery model with black plastic grips long barrel with some pitting, he says it looked like a bloody hand touched it and it was never cleaned off, he says it probably wont pass my inspection....he is asking 900 for it, but as a good friend he said i could probably bring it home from the gun show and take some pics on saturday, so you guys could fill me in.....i dont know if can afford a gun with a price that high being i am a farm kid working my way through college....any info is greatly appreciated!!!

Ya gots to give us more info... The 4v386, where is it located?

If an artillery, it is probably worth it close to that, even in the shape it is in. But again, more info, pictures can make us at least almost give you an intellegent answer.

And the blood pitting, well, it is something I usually doubt. Not that it can't or didn't happen, but why wouldn't someone wipe it off. If left on for days, then maybe, but more likely bad storage, left wet, etc...
