Eric,
Only 2 were known (identified) to be made under GL's direct supervision for the US trails. We can safely assume that only a handfull were produced. During the Weimar years, DWM produced a handfull more. So about 1.500.000 USD should get you in the right direction |

Not that I'm aware of, although there is the odd one that appears now and again, like the 'lunch box specials'. These were 9mm versions reportedly built from parts smuggled out of the factory.

Good read about these guns and SN's over on Jan's Gun Boards in the past :
http://luger.gunboards.com/topic.asp...ms=.45+caliber The very "controversial" .45 Luger carbine that popped up for sale with Shattuck was SN 21 and it had the 55 degree grip strap angle. |

Eric,
You sold me a copy of Lugers at Random months ago. I hope this isn't the copy your looking for. It's under MY bed. Mike C.

Eric, From the books that I have read, 5 .45 Cal. luger prototypes were sold to the US Govt. in 1907 for testing, Two are known to have been destroyed in testing, 2 are still known to exist and the 5th is the one we all hope to find. The US requested to purchase 200 more to test against the Colt M1905, but DWM declined to tool up for less than 1000, so the Savage .45 was ordered instead. TH

I'd love to get one built in .45. It would make a nifty little carbine, in fact...
