Default Shooting my 1936 S/42

Took my 1936 S/42 to the outdoor range yesterday and was expecting to use the 15 yard pistol range. We started shooting on the 25 yard rifle range so we could sight in our scoped .22 rifles. Just for fun, I decided to try my Luger on the 25 yard range and was very pleased and surprised to see just how accurate it is.

This target was shot at 25 yards with the barrel supported on my rifle rest and a two hand hold. The first shot was the high hit while holding on the bull. All the other hits were with a 6 O'clock hold and the group is 2 1/4 inches.

Ammo was Winchester 115 grain FMJ and the gun functioned flawlessly. My Luger is an all numbers matching gun and I have replaced the grips, firing pin, Extractor and ejector with after market parts just in case of a failure.

Thanks, Jerry. When you say "parts gun" does that imply that the accuracy might have been better had I used my original parts? I didn't think the grips, FP, extractor or ejector had much to do with accuracy. Just wondering.

I don't think you can get much better than that!!! That's some fine shooting my friend. This is why we love this pistol.
