Post Support needed...

Hi,

Picked up some 9mm S&B 115gr supplies at a local dealer. First the guy questioned me for using 'such heavy' S&B in the P08, then he started complaining about the crappy quality and low prices, etc.. of the P08 in general..Really pissed me off, that guy...

So I'm looking for some comforting...Please tell me that it's all right and I shouldn't listen to him...At least give me something to put him off the next time...(yep, weapons and ammo are in short supply, so we have to accept a limited choice in dealers).

Thanks,

Gerben

Sir, everything is alright. Don't listen to him. Lugers are like fine wine, aged whiskey, purebred hunting dogs, and beautiful tempermental women. They are not for the enjoyment of all and there are numerous accounts of bad experiences. Many, as is obvious in the gentleman you mentioned, are drawn to and endeared by the lowest qualities in all of the referenced. Should he by chance ever become acquainted personally with any or all of the four he would fail miserably and henceforth continue to speak negatively. Once again, don't listen to him.

I would add that if the gentleman in question ever gets a Luger in his shop for sale, I'd turn his words against him and remind him of the terrible quality and low value.... as he has already admitted to you. Then buy it cheaply and laugh all the way home!

Hi all,

Thanks for the support...I needed it...

As far as that gun dealer is concearned, he showed me a simpson luger, complaining that he had it in storage for someone for over 4 years and that storage costs were more than the gun was worth....It had a slight fracture on the front part of the toggle mechanism.

I think I'll keep an eye on that one (it was an east german reworked gun, btw)

That one is already a part's gun... make him a low offer (based on his own unkind words about the Luger) and then order a replacement toggle from one of the parts dealers like Lugerdoc (Tom Heller)... It should make a fine shooter.

John,

Thanks, I'll keep it in mind.
Problem is that I can't move swiftly. Gun laws here prevent you from owning more than 1 gun during your first year of registration...

The maximum is 5 altogether...
