Default Best Modern 9mm Cartridge For P08?

Greetings - Newbe Luger-Mann here again. Absorbing much great info from this site and other sources. Am wondering what is the best modern 9mm (FMJ?) cartridge for the actual firing of Lugers - 115, 124, or 147 grain bullets.

And would there be any major restrictions on modern higher-pressure loads (standard loadings; no +P!), on these older pistols - assuming the model used was in good shape? May be an uneeded question, but want to be certain.

Thanks in advance & Cheers.

I know of no one that recommends shooting NATO, +P, or +P+ ammo in a Luger. Stick with standard velocity ammo, and you should be fine.

I, personally, have had good luck with Winchester white box 115gr FMJ 9mm ammo, and PMC 115gr FMJ ammo. Both are fairly easy to find and affordable.

Many have had problems of malfunctions with Remington UMC ammo in their Lugers.

+1 on WWB 115gr from Wally World. Remington is a no go in my luger and other 9mm handguns.

Nato loads are hot, and not appropriate for Lugers.

As mentioned, use regular power Winchester white box 115gn or something similar.

Sounds like a broken record, by now but:

Winchester White-Box 115gr FMJ.
Sellier & Bellot 124gr FMJ.

Remington's pressure curves are apparantly determined by a lottery machine. Pressures are usually all over the place, been this way since the 1960s when Mauser had the stuff tested.

Well even though it sounds like a broken record, I MUST say it, for than the more people, the more likely your going to say, "Wow, I better get that." But Winchester White Box 115 Grain and Sellior And Bellot 124 FMJ also ALWAYS worked in all my Lugers.... With the latter being my fav in Lugers.

Looks like most modern normal pressure FMJ loads will work in the P08. Thanks.

Ditto, I prefer the S&B myself.

That broken record works well on my turntable too!

Winchester White-Box 115gr FMJ functions very well in my 1913 DWM shooter as does Federal Champion 115gr FMJ. My Hi Powers love the stuff too.
