I mailed in my C & R FFL application to the BATF during my stop-over in Atlanta on the way to California on April 12th... And I understand I've received my license already!!! That's gotta be like some kind of record.
But I'm not complaining mind you... |

tomorrow to make sure it was the license, and not some form asking for more information. But I was told it was the license... go figure! Maybe because it was mailed in Atlanta (the BATF office for C&R is in Atlanta) they may have thought I was a "home boy"

I'm in Atlanta, and it took a little over 3 months for mine to arrive. Granted, it was right after Y2K, and the ATF's computer system was suppose to be hurt because of it. Someone said they were having to do all the applications by hand, around that time-frame.
The C&R license is a great thing to have! Loaded up a nice cache of transfer-free weapons right after getting it www.cruffler.com is a good site for C&R info, and such. Give it a look, if you haven't seen it already. ---Wombat |

When I applied for my C&R, I called BATF. I have previously held both a C&R and a Class-I, so I wanted to know if I should fill out the application as a "renewal" or as a "new" application. Somehow - I got relayed over to a wonderful woman who gave me the head office (read: "Private Line") of the agent who heads up that Bureau in Atlanta. (He was as shocked as I was that I got transferred through on his private inside line..
Anyway - he was delightful and couldn't have been more gracious. He told me that when I applied, it was a "2-3 month period" to get the C&R - but was working on expediting the overall system... Maybe you are one of the first the beneficiaries of that "new & faster approval systems" he referenced! |

because it seems too fast.. yanno? But I was told it was the license, but didn't have the opportunity to interogate the purveyor of that news at that time... will do so tomorrow, and update you all. It just seems to good to be true. (I hope it's true )
