Post Well I traded away my beautiful 1912 DWM Luger.....

There are photos of the 1912 in a thread below.

I let Luke talk me out of it. He is sending me a 1940 Mauser and I am posting photos that he sent me. When I receive the gun, I'll post photos of the markings. It looks like a real beauty. Also a buddy has a nice 1940 holster that he is giving me for Christmas. Has this been a good year or what?

John I copied your photos and posted them on the forum as jpg's, this way they load faster for us guys on modems, I hope that was okay, ED T

What a nice honest gun; I'm sure you'll have no regrets. The anticipation of seeing a gun in the 'flesh' having studied the pictures is always a pleasure.

Roll on Xmas !

Great, if you are happy, it is always a great deal,

And nice friend too!

Thumbs up

My thanks to John for parting with this 1912 DWM. What a nice guy! I really needed it to complete my set of 1908-1914 DWMs without stock lugs.

Even though it broke my heart to trade away my near-mint 1940 with matching magazine, this 1912 is a beauty also; and my primary interest is in Imperial Lugers.

My sincere hopes that this will be a win-win deal for both of us.

Looks like a very good trade. I think you got a good Luger out of the deal. I'd definitly would have done it. <img src="graemlins/beerchug.gif" border="0" alt="[cheers]" />

Question

Hey, that book for the backdrop what's it going for?? I saw one today at the Dallas Market Hall gunshow for $59. Is that about par?? I almost got it, but found other things I wanted instead and passed it up this time.
Thanks

If this is one of Jan Stills books, $59 is the original price. There are four in the series, all worth the money and all out of print, so the price will just rise unless Jan has a new printing. I see them on e-bay and gun auction sites and they are going for $69 and up anymore. I still need Axis Pistols if anybody has an extra one?

Luke,

I am a bit confused...did you want a 1912 with or without a stock lug ?

John,

You sound like a great guy for parting with such a decent 1912 to help Luke fill out his DWM collection. What a nice way to support fellow collectors !

Regards,

Pete... <img src="graemlins/yltype.gif" border="0" alt="[typing]" />

Pete, I think that is a picture of Luke's 1940 that he is sending John and not the picture of the 1912.
