I am attempting to identify some items from my uncles estate.
According to my research this is a 1908 Commercial, however there are several discrepancys to that finding. The gun has no chamber marking, no stock lug, no grip safty and the "new" toggle type. The serial # does not fall in the range (or type) for a Commercial (it is 4 digits with a letter). All part #'s are matching and the gun appears to be original finish (the inside is in the white) however the extractor does not have a # and neither do the grips. Even tho the grips seem well worn to the gun. There is a unit marking on the front grip strap of 159.R.6.1 Here's my attempt at including pictures, hope it works: ![]() ![]() ![]() Would like to hear your opinion(s). BTW there's more to come. I've got an Arty and a Nambu to do yet. Plus this gun was in a 1916 holster. I'll post that to the "Holster" section, later. Thanks |
