I have a 6" barrel that I want to use. It does not have a
front site. Can I use a front site made for a 4" barrel if I use the standard Luger rear site? |

Ask Hugh Clark. He replaces barrels frequently. You can get his email in the profiles.

Your 6" bbl will require a higher front sight. Some of the older bbls have a higher sight base and the 4" bll sight can be used with them. The new ones that I get from Numrich have the same base height as the 4" bbls and require a higher front sight. The front sight for a Mauser rifle has the same dovetail and is higher, they can be filed to adjust point of aim. You can get them from Numrich; about $15 each. Check the height of the front sight base on your 6" bbl and compare it to the 4" bbl base height to determine if you will need a higher sight.
