Quite interesting, too bad there are not photos of Italian soldiers; in that war Italy lost about 650,000 soldiers
Both my grand fathers took part to the WWI , one got injured by an Austrian granade, and the other was granted a bronze medal as although injured in a leg managed to take a message that saved other soldiers; but even years after he never took any advantage of that decoration (I rememeber my father saying that he used to give his medal to the kids to play)... Nearly 650,000 soldiers and another estimated 600,000 civilian casualties from a 1914 population of only 35.6 million, that is a heavy price to pay. Too much suffering for too little gain, if any.

If any of you get to KC, MO, stop in at their WW1 museum. Well worth a long afternoon.
