Default best ways to keep my luger looking fine

hello guys and girls? i have a 41 mauser p08 with pretty much all matching serial numbers and i was wondering what are some ways to make it look more new so i can sell it for more.. from a foot or more away you cant even see any blemishes but close up there looks like to be tiny rust and wear defently on the back of the handle (guessing it came from the oils of skin) but pretty much i think certain cleaning agents can make this look almost mint condition,, any suggestions on how to safely clean it would be greatly apreciatated ... and if any one is also interested in owning it just message me for more details i was looking to sell it about 2 g's but any suggestions on blue booking it would also be helpful ..

thanks
jarrod

Jarrod, you can clean up a luger with some gun oil and 0000 steel wood, being very careful. But you really can't gfet rid of the blemishes except by cold blue or the like and that would be inappropriate and wrong to do.

Pictures (good clear ones) could help us helpt you figure out the value, but 2 thousand sounds high in todays market for a 41 (byf ?)

Does it have a matching magazine?

Given so many guns come with "matching" magazine(s), military gun with matching magazine should give 20% discount

yea i was thinking about using wool but wasnt sure if it would damage it at all ,, i am working to get my camera working to post some pictures because i know with the picture pricing would be hell of alot easier but yes its byf 41 with wooden grips and no sadly the mag isnt matching but everything else is matched .. i figured 2 grand was on the high end of my asking price but ive heard people selling them for 3 to 5 grand. but i was leaning on 1500 to 2000 would be more appropriate.. i love the gun to death and really dont want to sell it but im about to go to college and the extra money would help. i dont know why but if i do sell it im looking to get another historic pistol to have maybe a p38 or something a little smaller. the luger to me is the most futuristic looking pistol and it has a good center gravity for pretty accurate shooting but i guess its design was made in a time where weapons were concealed.
the history of my luger is placed in france i think where my grandfather walked off his navy ship and took this nazis luger and helmet .(my dad still has the helmet and it is too small to fit on my head and im not a big person at all 5'8 so im guessing this nazi was someone close to being 15 years of age and died from a bayonett in his back. i was also wondering if any one knows if the nazis used there pistols alot and am wondering if this luger was likely to have killed a person. i may never know but to have something with so much history is impressive, and sometimes a chilling effect.

As John s says, if you sell this for "money" then you'lll always regret it... ( I don't agree 100% with this, but it is true)

Also I don't think a luger is smaller than a p38... maybe a PPK...

PS: OOOO steel wool, NOTHING less smooth

oh i know i meant the luger is kind of a bulky fat gun to carry around it would seem .. im pretty sure the p38 is a little less heavy but a ppk would be ideal,

so ur saying its not worth to sell it ? .. i was thinking about that also because from what i could get for it .. is a couple of pay checks and to have a luger is almost every mans dream. ( and very good to start off a collection.

soft steel wool thanks alot

ps.i was wondering what john s's reason for his conclusion about me regreting it .

There is some stuff that was discussed on one of the forums a while back. "Big 45 metal cleaner"
A pad of curly metal that gets rust, but won't harm the blueing. I got some, tried it. It works.
