Default Alphacasting

I thought this would be of curious interest to some of you.

I was at the Cansec trade show in Ottawa last week. It's a trades only, closed to the public, military based tradeshow highlighting military equipment used by the Canadian Armed forces and various suppliers that have or are trying to provide equipment to them.

Now, no jokes about the size of our military please!!

Some neat vehicles, small arms, unmanned drones etc to see.

However what surprised me was a Quebec based company called Alphacasting, had various castings on display. Various slides, frames for Sigs. 1911's, Paras etc.

Then I saw a casting of a Luger frame! Never expected that!

Unfortunately the guy on the booth was not a gun guy and didn't really know anything about it. i.e. whether it was current production etc.

I vaguely recall they make castings for a number of companies, possibly even the M1A/M14 receiver, but not sure.

Anyhow, just thought I'd mention it as a curious bit of information.

Perhaps they were the company that made the Stainless Steel Luger frame castings for AIMCO (Now Orimar)?

I saw the same Company at the Shot Show in Orlando, When I asked the guy about the Luger frame, he told me it was an "attention getter"

Well it got my attention and yours
