what's the best way to keep your luger in pristine condition? Rub a light coat of oil on everything metal and put it in the safe?

Yes. But do not let oil get on the grips. Then every month or so, take it from the safe, handle it some, then another light coat of oil.

I am going to try to get a thread going about just this topic. Look for it in under Repair Restoration & Refinishing.
