Default The Barrel...

Cleaning my luger, with the toggle closed, I was polishing the barrel when I noticed there was play left to right. The movement was about 1/16th of and inch total. Is this normal?

My gun is sighted in for 20 yards and with a steady hand my grouping still rivals any target pistol. Any observations? And please no bad Aimco/Stoeger jokes.....just kidding!!

I personally say no . My 1906 AE only moves a few thousands of an inch (can barely be noticed) In your position I would seek the advice of Ted (Thor) , JohnnyP , Hugh , Dok , John Sabato , G.T. HÃ?Â¥kan and many others who should soon give very sound advice Give much thought and please heed their advice

Default Sounds to me like a sloppy fit of the barrel extension

in the grip frame. You can Get it checked by a gunsmith, but as long as it is deemed safe to shoot and groups as you describe, I am not sure I would do anything about it. A sixteenth sounds like a lot... are you talking about the fit of the barrel extension in the frame? or movement at the end of the barrel?

If you field strip the upper and slide it into the frame is there play at both front and rear or just at the front?

If the gun is still under warranty, You could check with Aimco about it's condition... They may correct their work for free.

Default Probably should effect repair's........

as the excess movement will have less effect on accuracy, then it will have on consistant trigger pull, and quite possibly safty! The trigger/lever/trigger bar/disconector assemblies look like they have a lot of excess movement, but in reality, they actually have a close timing/working tolerance.....a few thousands of movement in the sideplate can cause a serious malfunction of these parts, I can't even imagine what .060" movement in this area would do....quite awhile back we had this discussion about tight lockup, and receiver to frame play....I think the most felt that tight is right, for the gun your going to shoot! Good luck, till later....G.T.

Default With all due respect...

if this is a stainless steel Luger, it would be best not to seek HÃ?Â¥kan's advice!
