While I have a few guns other that Lugers (and you can never have too many Lugers) I do have two nice 1907 model Savage pistols, one in 32ACP and the other in 380.
I kind of like them as they "fit in" with my other collecting, Savage being a contender in the US trials of 1906-7 with Luger and Colt etc. Secondly, in WW2 Savage was a major manufacturer of the model of 1928A1 Thompson and the M1A1 Thompson, which is my other lust. Also unique is the rotating barrel in the little Savage. However! what I would like to know is that somewhere I read that the Portuguese used the Savage, especially in 9mm Corto. One of my guns has a proof mark which is a crown/V. Could this be Portuguese? Any help will be greatly appreciated. Regards Murray ![]()
