Post Arsenal Refinished Portugese Luger

I am considering the purchase of a 1906 Portugese Army Luger in 7.62 cal. The receiver top is marked with the crown, M and 2. It is in excellent condition. The dealer states it was "Arsenal Refinished". The 2-digit serial numbers are missing. The 3-digit serials on the barrel, receiver and rear of the toggle (DWM) all match. It has the Army proof mark (triangle in a circle) in numerous places including the magazine with wood base. Various books list this luger in 95% condition as $1,800. What is the value if it was Arsenal Refinished? The dealer wants $1,150. Any advice would be appreciated.

I can't comment on the value of your Luger, but if you check out the member gallery link on the left frame of the Lugerforum.com homepage you will find an album that shows a complete rig with a Luger like yours...

Here is the link to that album...

User "Imperial Arms" (Albert Beliard) can probably give you a good estimate of the value of your refinished portuguese Luger...

Here is his homepage:

Hi John,
the family name of Albert is Beliard not Belican.
Ciao

(Thanks Mauro... I inadvertantly deleted "iard) with my clumsy fingers... I have corrected my error... -JS)
