Front Page
John D., It looks like you changed the front page a bit. I like the greeting and the new photo. Thanks for everything that you do to keep this up and running. <img border="0" alt="[thumbsup]" title="" src="graemlins/bigok.gif" />

Actually Sid, It was me, and not John D. this time. Just a subtle change of guns and welcome message... and I wondered how long it would be before someone caught it... Not Very Long -- I just did it about an hour ago!
There is one other subtle change or addition on one of the other lesser visited pages...that I think John D. DID do... I wonder how long it will be till someone catches that one!

mmmm,
there are some barrels that divide the topics in the menu on the left. For example between Rogues Gallery and History of the Luger there is one of these division barrels. Let me know. Ciao Mauro

Well then my thanks to you John for your hard work. Nice change. I usually get to this site from there and I noticed it right away. Is the photo from one of the recent threads posted this week? It looks like I have seen it recently. I will take a look at the other pages and see if I can figure out what changed there.
Sid.

John, I do believe I found it. Nice picture of Georg. It used to be a picture of a soldier. Am I right? I will not say where it is at so we can see if anyone else finds it.
Sid.

You guys still haven't found the change/addition I was talking about... and no hints either... when somebody finds it I will confirm. The change took place in the last week or so...
The photo on the "markings" technical information page was changed MONTHS ago... you guys just don't visit it very often. and the addition of the Witness Marks photo and information was made over a month ago as well. As far as the front page change... Yes, it was from a post this week. I sanitized the numbers and any visible markings so it represents a typical P.08 just like the last one. I chose it because it is a rather good photo with little shadow to detract from the gun and because it has a great set of grips don't you think? I intend to randomly change this front page photo from time to time just to see who is paying attention... Anyone who has a good photo of a Luger that they would like to submit for this purpose can send it to the official forum email address: lugerforum@yahoo.com My preference is for crisp focus and as little shadow as possible... a white background makes the photo easier to use, but any color that displays the gun well is acceptable. With enough encouragement and adequate submissions from the peanut gallery, I may re-institute the "Luger of the Month" photo essay feature that we had the first year...and when the month is over the photo(s) will be retired to the Member Gallery. lacking sufficient quality photos for a Luger of the Month, I will just rename the feature to be the "Featured Luger" and it will change as adequate replacement photos and descriptions are submitted. Let's get them cameras clicking folks!

When I first became a member of the Luger Forum, the picture on the front page changed monthly. I kind of miss that because it was something to look forward to. Thanks, John, for a new Luger to drool over!

Lugers of all makes and models would be considered... The best photographs are the ones that are selected. I personally like clear focus closeups that show details... Be creative, use appropriate backgrounds and props are fine too.
Also, if you see any REALLY GOOD photos of a Luger being auctioned... send me the URL and I will request permission to permanently post the photographs on this site in a Gallery album, even if they are not chosed for Luger of the Month, or Featured Luger...
