Waaaay Off Topic
All,
I have two artifacts that need a home. One is a stone mint Colt M1911A-1 documented to have been carried by the first American Officer to enter Yokohama and Tokyo after the Japanese cease fire. Accompanying it are his notarized statement, a mint black service holster and his musette bag. Second artice is a 1 meter x 1 meter Fuerher Standart. It is the silk screened variety, unquestionably original and is lightly faded. D rings are still present. Neither the Colt nor the Standart are cheap; would appreciate any help from the membership as to who might be "into" similar items and would be desirous of unburdoning me of these. TIA Tom A. <img src="graemlins/yltype.gif" border="0" alt="[typing]" /> |

Tom,
The holster would have been a later addition unless the original owner dyed it black. The U.S. Army did not start changing over from brown to black until 1956. I have been collecting the 1911/1911A1 a lot longer than the Luger, and am always interested in buying another. Would you send the serial number range of your pistol along with the other information you have by private e-mail. Who is the maker of the holster? |
