Post "officer's specials"

When I bought my nickle plated Luger the dealer claimed nothing for it other than that it was a Luger and it was nickle plated. I bought it as a good inexpensive shooter. Not too long after a ran into another nickle plated Luger and the second dealer claimed it was an "officer's special". The pistol was a poor example of a Luger whether you considered the nickle plating or not. I did not think it would even make a good shooter. There was a dip in the barrel under the nickle as if some one had ground out a blemish with a heavy hand. Bore was poor, etc.

How many of you have had the experience of running across a piece of junk with obviously bogus claims riding on it? I am excluding the "quality" fakes that took real craftsmanship to create.

The one I like is a nickel plated Luger being made that way by the factory for use in Parades and special ceremonies, oh brother!

Here it is again for all the new members, about the last 1500 or so, and those that missed it.
