Post OT..... Consecutive serial #??? value????

Hi To all! If any of you guys visit the P.38 forum, you'll have read that I stumbled onto a consecutive pair of zero series P.38's!(thru no fault of my own!) What's that saying Frank has about, "Even a blind pig stumbles into an acorn once and awhile!" My question to the forum is as follows, what do you think consecutive serials do for the value of the set, as opposed to the value of the individual examples on there own??? Let me know what you think?? till...later...GT <img border="0" alt="[jumper]" title="" src="graemlins/jumper.gif" />

Hello G.T.

Sorry I couldnt get back to you faster....& a big thanks on the P-38 advice....

YES a consecutive pair adds value and a lot of desirability....especially on a rare variant like the Zero series ( 3rd Variant?? ) P-38...

Around here, I've seen consecutive pairs going for the added values of the 2 pistols PLUS 30-50% on rare models....

Thanks Kidvett! That sound pretty good to me! My son feels the same way.... When I querried him with the same question, he said: "You got to ask yourself what would you pay to get the consecutive number gun?" I though about it, and I have to say, quite a bit better then face value.... A little bit about the deal, I collected the first zero series from the vet who brought it back, a dozen years ago... it was the only chance I've had to buy a nice 4th zero series in twenty years... I move 1500 miles away, and a dozen years later I buy another 4th variation zero series gun... only the second opportunity to purchase a nice 4th variation zero gun! BOOM!CONSECTUIVE NUMBERS!!!I didn't even realize this until Orv posted a note saying that I had reported the first purchase a dozen years earlier! THANKS ORV!!! Like I said earlier, even a blind pig finds..etc, etc.... thats what makes this hobby so much fun!! Kidvett..your more then welcome for the info...but you have to realize that I'm becomming an old fart... and my view is most likely conservative! Feel free to call on me anytime! Till...later...GT

Ummmm.....

As I remember - G.T actually posted pictures of these... Try here http://boards.rennlist.com/cgi-bin/P38/P38.pl?read=8410 - and under the thread - you will see the replies and other pictures.... I'm pretty familiar with the P.38 Forum too (and the PPK Forum) and they are very active as of late... As here - on both the other Forums, there are a number of folks who are Authors/Collectors of note. Enjoy...

To G.T. - EXCELLENT...!!! Good for you!!! When I saw your posts on the P.38 Forum - I was a little green with envy.....!!!!

I guess I will have to figure out how to get back to Arizona G.T.

I was already lucky enough to hold the first one when I visited you. Now I want to hold "them" one in each hand!

A consecutive pair! I think the odds are astronomical!

Congrats my friend!
