Talking Off Line, hospitalization

<img src="graemlins/offtopic.gif" border="0" alt="[offtopic]" /> To all my friends on The Forum. I am going into the hospital for spinal surgery. The fusing of lumbar vertebra numbers 4 & 5, with the correction of a herniated disc. I am asking for your prayers during this stressful time. I do not expect to be back on line for several weeks, but I am looking forward to contributing my small amount of knowledge and reading all your comments. Many thanx, Schwob....(Bob)

Bob... your speedy recovery and relief of your discomfort is in our prayers...

If you can, have your wife let us know here on the forum if there is anything we can do for you...
--------------
I urge all forum members to contact their respective churches to have Bob Spitzer added to their prayer chain...

Prayer WORKS!

James 5:16 Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.

I've had that done. Hurts like hell but you'll get over it. When I came out from being in never never land the first thing that I realized was that the pain in my legs was gone. Then the other pain set in. Lasted a few weeks. I do not regret in the least having it fixed. The quicker you get up and moving afterward the better off you'll be. I started walking the next day. I wish you the best but have no doubt it will be ok. Contact me anytime offline for a sympathetic "been there done that and got over it" opinion.

I join the rest of the group in wishing you the very best and a speedy recovery. You will have a lot of folks praying for you, and as John S. said, prayer works.

As a younger guy with many spinal probs among others (tumors but non cancerous) it can take a while to recover. A lot of how well you do is in your mindset both before and after the surgery. I wish you all the best and when you return, or even before you go, if you have any questions drop a private message. I don't know much about lugers, but know a lot about this subject. Good luck.

Bob,

My best to you. I am facing a similar problem but have refused to put myself in the hands of those who wish to mutilate my otherwise pristine body ( ).

Get mobile asap and know that the forum folks care and are thinking about you.

I have come across a site that speaks of a new method of repairing herniated disks by laproscopy. It is much less invasive than conventional surgery. I will look for it tonight and post it if I find it. The pain of not having it can be very hard to live with.
