Thanks for letting us know Gerard. I am sure the illustrations will be every bit as good as the other four e-books.

I will be downloading my copy today!

I just downloaded and installed this new e-book, and the section on the Ideal Stock alone is worth the price! Great photos and great illustrations...

This is a great addition to the other 4 e-books in the Luger series...

My only objection to this type of publication is that once it is installed, it is locked to the computer where you install it. The e-book is not portable so you can read it on any computer that you have access to...

Gerard, Is there something that can be done about this. I have a laptop where I would like to be able to read this book but now it is locked to my desktop at work!

Thanks Gerard.

John,
Being in the security end of the computer business, you should know that if Gerard makes it portable, it then becomes fair game for less scrupulous individuals to pirate and distribute, either for sale or for free. Unfortunately, if Gerard wants to protect his investment, individual copies must be locked to a single computer, just like a single user software license. It could be accomplished with codeword access, but that is a lot of overhead which makes it more expensive to distribute and less convenient to use.

Hi John,

Honestly - the answer probably - and should be - "no". Like most software, the license is for a single software image on a single computer (like the MAC OS/X, Windows, most applications, etc..). On my other sites, I have a real problem with 100,000+ registered users "sharing" bootleg copies of the Porsche PET (parts manual) CD - which is both a trademark and copyright infringement to the software developers and Porsche...

Anyway - I agree with Ron on this - sorry..!! !

Perhaps a system could be devised where the installation software "heals" itself when uninstalled from a computer so it can be re-installed on a different computer without violating copyrights...

Where there is a will, there is a way...

It is not that I am not smart enough to figure this out... I just don't have the time... UNLESS maybe figuring out the solution is the way I will make myself rich and can buy one of those Krause .45 Lugers like Ron, or some Krieghoff's like John D.

Presuming you are running XP Pro on your notebook (hey - isn't *everybody*???!! ) - allow-enable Remote Connections. With your XP enabled system at home - or in the office next door - connect to that computer... Since the software image is really running on the host system (notebook) rather then the secondary system - it'll work fine.. A Tad SLOWWWWW - but it will work Now - If I could get Cleartype to work over that remote connection...

Best to you!!!
