Post Nickeled Artillery

Hello, I saw this on Guns America and thought I would ask if anyone thinks is it over priced or just right.

http://www.gunsamerica.com/guns/976355184.htm

Might be good to shoot armadillos with style...

May God bless you all

Michael

I wouldn't pay more than $800 for it, and would be happier closer to $700.

Just my $.02.

I saw that and would agree with Dwight; the asking price is far to high for a plated gun. I wonder how well it was polished before plating ?

Hello Michael,
please have a look at the KTS site:
http://www.kirstein.com/w/indexe.htm

As you cas see in the following picture:

http://www.kirstein.com/w/emonat.htm

KTS sells nickeled arty. You can ask information about the current price.

I hope this helps.

Ciao

I agree that the price is way too high for what amounts to a shooter. The gun has little resale value. For that price you can still get a 1917 in original blue that will increase in value over time.

I sold a restored Artillery with COMPLETE reproduction leather, board stock, etc for $2500 last year and the ad said it was restored. These guns have value, perhaps not to some collectors but in the gun market there is value.

Ted, I think many of us forget that there is a "cool" value of having an "Artillery Luger". To the average non-collector, they don't care if it is a collectable or not, they desire to show it off, shoot it off and have fun with it.

To someone with money and the desire, hell why not?

Thor,
I agree that a good quality restoration, such as you have a reputation for, is still a good Luger. Particularly in the Imperial Luger Era. But this is a chromed job and not a quality restoration and I believe that that makes it something different. The key word is "restoration" which I take as putting back to original. You got an excellent price for your rig (?). The person knew what they were getting.

Big Norm, I sold it to a client BEFORE I started the restoration and before he saw it. He had several of my restorations and trusted me. I should buy this chrome job, restore it and resell it! NAw....I need one for myself! Thanks for the kind words!
