Came into possesion of a S42 luger today all matching except mag and take down lever.It has holster and bring back papers. Is $500.00 a good price?

No. It is better than good. Unless it is a total rust bucket you have done very well indeed.

Good job, with the holster and bring back papers that is roughly half what the set is worth...

...post photos if you can for a more accurate estimate of your Luger and accessory values...
