Question on a Possible Blackwidow Luger
A friend picked up a byf 41 Luger at a recent gun show and I had a chance to examine it today. It is all matching with an fxo marked magazine with waffenamts. There are no import marks. It has black plastic grips (or stocks). The grips are checkered to the edges, and are solid on the back. There are no markings on the inside of the grips. Would these be considered correct grips for this pistol.
The ejector has been left bright, but the other small parts (take down lever, safety and magazine catch) are all blued. I've not seen a byf 41 with an unblued ejector. Any comments would be appreciated.

Hi Joe, the ejector should be blue. The grips should not be checkered to the edge, they should have a clean border around the edge of the grips. I can't say for sure, but based on the grips, I would say the Luger is questionable.
When you say all matching, do you mean both the externally visible marks AND the internal parts (trigger, main toggle pin, breech block, hold open lever and firing pin)? What is the serial number of the Luger, including the suffix, if there is one? |
