Post John, here is a pic of the Arizona Colt.

I bought the pistol in Dallas several years ago and it was a sad looking puppy. The USP had been removed and it had a bad refinish. So I completely redid it, and it came out pretty good.

BTW, I create these placards using Microsoft Word. I am partial to Microsoft, My daughter is married to one of the first ten employees of the company, he retired when he was 30.......

John,

How is it that this .45 escaped the fate of it's crewmates?

I just finished a book by a Navy salvage diver called "Descent Into Darkness", that made many dives on the Arizona and other BBs. He and others removed many M1911s from the wreck and got in lots of trouble. This may be one of those guns.

All I know is that it was 1 of the 100 assigned to the Arizona when she was commissioned. It is a long way from 1916 to 1921 so it may have left the ship long before she went down.....
