i have a 1939 s/42 with all matching numbers except for the toggle. the gun is in very good condition with only minor holster wear. i am curious as to when and why the toggle was changed and how much it decreases the value of the gun.

I have seen two Lugers with rear toggles that were cracked, my guess by firing ammunition not matched to the main spring that was in the gun.
