1917 DWM or 1937 S/42?
Hi All,
I have a choice to make. A 1917 DWM all matching, very good bore, 85% orig finish (with some pitting on holster contact areas) w/two miss-matched mags. for $600. Or, a 1937 S/42 all matching except for the pin, near excellent bore (minor frosting in some areas)75% finish (excessive wear on front and back strap otherwise nice) with two miss-matched mags for $500. I have been in the market for a shooter, I already have a 90% 41 BYF w/bakelite grips. Please advise. mm

At those prices why not buy them both, handle them for a while to decide the one you like the most, and sell on the loser.....
For a shooter I'd probably go for the S/42 myself. |

I agree with Stu, at those prices, I'd buy them both. However, if you can only afford one, for a shooter I would also go for the Mauser.
