1917 DWM 4" value?
My friend has a 4" 1917 DWM in a 1916 holster w/ loading tool 2 aluminum bottom mags. Grips and slide stop don't match. Condition is about 85% and the stock lug has been ground off. I'm thinking $400-$500 on this one.

Jim, The pistol is damaged what with the stock lug being ground off and it looks like a refinnish from what I can see. That puts it in a shooter catagorie. I would say $300 to $400.00 for the pistol alone.
Two Magazines depending on condition, wood bottom, $100.00 each. Tool, depending on originality and markings, $50.00 to $100.00 Holster looks good, I would say $200.00 To $250.00 so I would guess a fair estimate would be $800.00 to $900.00 for the rig. This depends on so many things that this is all purely speculation. Good Luck! Jerry Burney

Thanks, Jerry
I think you confused the 4" with the Arty I was asking about as far as matching mags and the tool. This 4" has two aluminum bottom mags, the take-down tool and the holster. I examined the gun and it is not a refinnish but rates about 85% original finish, strawing is about 70%. I figured it was in the $400-$500 range for the set.

Jim, Confused? You guessed my middle name! Always offer less than what you might think it is worth...Since this appears to be a mismatched pistol with an original finish do the serial numbers match on both the frame and cannon? Might be possible that the frame came without a stock lug...Early DWM frames did not have a stock lug. Good Luck! Jerry burney
